What’s Happening? March 2024

March is a great month in Puerto Rico — we have almost perfect weather. So be prepared for some great fun! While there is almost always something interesting happening somewhere in Puerto Rico, there are a few special events each month that deserve special mention. Here are a few of those events for March 2024.

February 29 to March 3: the Festival Gastronómico Artesanal de Coamo and San Blas Half Marathon

The San Blas Half Marathon, which is held annually in the town of Coamo, is considered one of the most important endurance events in the world. This is a race that covers a distance of 21 KM. Come, enjoy, and be part of history! The race starts at 7am on 03 March. Check their Facebook page for more info. And this year, in the public plaza, there is a town festival of Food and Artisans with music going on the whole weekend to make it a real party!

March 2 to 3: Fiesta del Café de Jayuya

A festival celebrating Coffee! The Roasters and Farmers of the highlands invite you to celebrate a town festival with a wide variety of activities for the whole family and especially for coffee lovers. The Gran Colada, a car show, our Coffee Queen, coffee-based dessert competitions, a latte art competition and loads of live music. Plus food, artisans, plant sales, and more. March 7 to 10: Puerto Rico Open PGA Tour

The Puerto Rico Open is a PGA TOUR tournament held on the island of Puerto Rico since 2008. For over a decade, hundreds of professional golf players and thousands of attendees — enthusiasts and families alike — have arrived at Grand Reserve, where the Puerto Rico Open delivers world-class sports entertainment, local food, drinks, and live music for everyone to enjoy Where: Grand Reserve Golf Club, Rio Grande. March Events

March 9: Taste of Rum Festival 2024

A rum lover’s dream — Loads of rum drink samples from most of the rum producers on the island. Plus music, entertainment and seminars, and there will be food available for purchase. Held at the PR Convention Center in San Juan, with general admission from 7pm. Tickets on sale now at Ticketera.com. See their Webpage for details.

March 13 to 17: Orchid Sale and Exhibition

The Puerto Rican Orchid Society, Inc. celebrates its 72nd exhibition, held again this year at the Caguas Botanical Garden. Beautiful gardens with a wide variety of orchids on display. Vendors will be selling orchids, bromeliads, ornamental plants, crafts, food, and more. Entrance to the Botanical Garden is $3 per person. Free parking. Open 9am to 6pm. March 15 to 17: Festival en honor de la China Dulce de Las Marias

One of the typical festivals in Puerto Rico – this one celebrating oranges!. Loads of live music, food, artisans, plant sales, and more. A great family event. See the Facebook page for details. Will be held at Public Plaza in Las Marías from about 9am to 10pm.

March 17: Día Nacional de la Zalsa 2024

A big salsa dance party where you can enjoy loads of live music and meet new and interesting dance people! Held at Stadium Hiram Bithron in San Juan. Music starts at 9am! For more information and tickets, check prticket.com

March 29-31: Puerto Rico Comic Con 2024

Here it is again- for all you lovers of Comic/anime/sci-fi/gaming etc! There are activities for the whole family: with Special Guests, Conferences, Video Games, Local Artists, Cosplay Showcase with prizes and much more. Held at the PR Concvention Center in San Juan.
