Restaurants
Dining in Puerto Rico is an event. A meal is something to be savored, not rushed through. Having said that, service in restaurants may appear slow to Americanos like us. But the people here would describe it differently … they would say it’s relaxed so that you may enjoy your meal at a leisurely pace.
In any case, you will be given ample time to enjoy your meal. And don’t expect your server to bring you your check. You’ll have to explicitly ask for it, often more than once. If you’re trying to keep to any timetable, let your server know that as soon as you are seated.
