La Mina is a FANTASTIC place to experience the rain forest. It's not a far walk (from either La Mina or Big Sky trail) and offers a place to stand underneath a waterfall. Approach carefully, the rocks are shallow with the exception of where the water fall hits the pool, it's about 12 or so feed deep there. My advice is go on a very hot day as the water is cold and bring a baseball cap, it helps keep the falling water out of your eyes.
