Puppies For Adoption – Hecho en Puerto Rico!

We Have Found "forever homes" for all 3 puppies!

Thanks to everyone for helping us find permanent homes for all three of the puppies! Two of them will be living here in Puerto Rico, and one of them now lives in Ohio!

We have decided to keep the mama dog for ourselves (as if there was ever any question about that!). The mother (now named "Picacho") is currently undergoing heart worm treatment.

Spay/Neuter

We are strong believers in spay/neuter programs. If you are a resident of Puerto Rico or Culebra, and you have a non-spayed or non-neutered pet, you can obtain a low-cost spay/neuter through Island Dog. If you want to help, but cannot adopt a dog, please think about making a dontation to Island Dog.

The Story

We were heading out to go hiking in El Yunque on Saturday, and we found this mother dog nursing 3 pups in the middle of the street near our house. We moved them out of the road so we could drive past them, and in the hopes that they wouldn’t get hit by another car.

When we came back home about 3 hours later, they were back in the middle of the road. We had no choice but to pick them up and bring them home. So we picked up the pups, put them into a cloth bag, and put them into the car. The mother dog jumped into the car … and we were off.
