Enjoy a Great Half-day on the Water with Crash Boat Experiences
If you’re looking for an unforgettable water adventure in Puerto Rico, then a boat trip with Crash Boat Experiences is just what you need. From the moment you step aboard, you’re in for a thrilling mix of stunning coastal views, exciting water activities, encounters with wildlife, and local storytelling that will make your journey truly unique. You will love it!
The Crash Boat Experiences tour takes place in Aguadilla, on the north west coast of Puerto Rico (about 2-2Β½ hours from the San Juan area). This part of the island is known for its crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life, making it the perfect launch point for an ocean excursion.
As you board the boat, Captain Pelican and/or Captain Wood welcome you with a warm smile and an enthusiasm that sets the tone for the adventure ahead. With years of experience navigating these waters, they know all the best spots to explore, and ensure every guest has a memorable time.
As you cruise along the coastline, you’ll witness breathtaking rock formations and lush landscapes that make this area so special. The Captain shares fascinating stories about the region’s history, adding a cultural depth to the experience. You will see and learn about the old sugar pier, and the Shrine to the Virgin del Carmen (protector of the fishermen).
Of course, you can’t help but enjoy all the pelicans join you on the boat. The captain know the birds by name and he explains about the birds, the importance of the Aguadilla coastal area for pelican nesting, and how they are working to make the cliffs there a wildlife preserve. We were able to see, up close, the nests and baby pelicans in the trees along the rocks, and the fresh water waterfall they adults need for the babies. We got to touch and feed the pelicans, too! Surprisingly, they are so soft!
After interacting with the pelicans for a while, is time for more fun — like snorkeling with and feeding the tarpon, jumping off the Jaguar rock, jumping off pier at Crash Boat Beach, going into the secret caves that are only accessible by boat, and watching the surfers line up to “catch a wave”.
It was one cool thing after another, they just kept coming! Some really unique and beautiful experiences. At one point, we also watched as the captain called the frigate birds and they came down and took fish from his hand. Beautiful birds!
Snorkeling is a must-do activity on this trip. The usual stops are at Crash Boat pier and/or Pena Blanca. The waters are clear and teeming with colorful fish, sea turtles, and even the occasional stingray. Whether you’re a seasoned snorkeler or a first-timer, they provide all the necessary gear and guidance to ensure you have a safe and exciting underwater adventure. One of our group is not a water person, so she stayed on the boat and took photos and enjoyed extra time with the birds!
We went for an afternoon/sunset trip, so the captain knew where to go and how to line up the boat to get some really beautiful photos. There’s no better way to end the journey than by watching the sun dip below the horizon. The golden hues reflecting off the water create a picture-perfect moment, ideal for capturing memories that will last a lifetime. And all along the trip, our captain was taking photos of our group enjoying our experience, which he shared with us at the end of the trip.
The trip includes refreshments, allowing you to sip on a cool drink to keep you hydrated and relaxed. I assume, depending on the weather, each groups desires and past experiences, the trip can be personalized/tailored with different stops and different activities (possibly even fishing!). This really is a beautiful, fun, and exciting nature adventure for the whole family.
