Calendar of Events

This calendar contains a sampling of events scheduled across the island. All are open to the public. Most require no reservations. Many are free. You can plan on attending at least one of these events during your visit to Puerto Rico so that you can get a sampling of the culture. You will likely find local food and music at almost all of these events. And where there’s music, there’s bound to be singing and dancing!

We’ve also included a list of holidays observed here in Puerto Rico. On some holidays (Good Friday comes to mind), the island virtually shuts down. If you’re planning on taking a tour or visiting an attraction on one of these holidays, we suggest that you call ahead just to make sure they’re going to be open.

The first and only culinary event exclusively dedicated to Sushi. Guests at this event will get to taste the culinary art of well known sushi restaurants in Puerto Rico. Casals Festival
Annual classical music festival. Events are held at the Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferré in Santurce, and UPR Theater in Río Piedras. Performances are generally on the weekends - check the schedule on the referenced web site.

Ironman 70.3 Puerto Rico
Spectators and athletes alike are treated to amazing views on this course, whether from San Beach, Dos Hermanos Bridge or the Caribe Hilton's San Geronimo grounds. Start your day with a 1.2-mile swim in the protected waters of Condado Lagoon, followed by a 56-mile bike over the northern part of the island to Dorado and on to challenging cross-winds near the Atlantic Ocean. The two-loop, 13.1-mile run course winds through the northern part of the islet with picturesque views of the Atlantic Ocean and Spanish architecture.

LGBT PR Pride Parade
The 27th Annual Puerto Rican LGBTTIQ Pride March will be held on Sunday, June 25th 2017. The celebration starts at 11:00am at “Parque del Indio” in the Condado area, where participants will all march proudly towards “Parque del Tercer Milenio” at the entrance of Old San Juan. There, the best local and international entertainment will enchant us at our legendary “Pride Fest”. All are welcome.

A Living History demonstration — A soldier's life inside the fortifications of San Juan during the 18th century included practice, drills, work, and recreation.
