It's November already, and that means the official start of the holiday season in Puerto Rico. Look for many towns having their official town "Lighting of Holiday Decorations" celebrations, usually featuring Christmas lights, fireworks, traditional music, food, artisans, and more. Other things to do in November include the Winter Baseball League, various food festivals, concerts, and sporting events.

October is generally a slow month here in Puerto Rico. We're at the lowest point of our "low season" for tourists, and many businesses that depend on tourism cut back their hours either to take their own vacations. There are still plenty of things to do this month. Here are some highlights for October 2026.

With the month of September comes the official end of summer … kids are back in school, and visions of the upcoming holidays are beginning to show up in the stores. Here in Puerto Rico, we still have plenty going on from hot beach days, to food festivals, and the height of Hurricane Season. Here are some highlights for September 2026.

August is a fun time in Puerto Rico. The first two weekends are the final "summer flings" before school resumes and, after that, things calm down a bit. But it is still "summer" weather here … fruits are ripe, temperatures are high, and people are still in a party mood. Expect water-related activities to be busy as people try to keep cool during the "dog days" of summer! A few towns have their Patron Saint Festivals, so get ready for lots of music, food, and fun! Here are some highlights for August 2026.

The month of July is probably the busiest month here in Puerto Rico. We have lots of holidays this month, so locals take vacation in July. Combine that with the tourists spending their summer vacation on the island, and you can expect lots crowds and lots of activities happening, especially on the weekends and holidays. Here are some highlights for July 2026.

May is a the beginning of "summer" here on the island, and the beginning of "beach weather". Schools let out for the summer in May, locals head to the beaches, and the action really picks up! Expect fun family activities, lots of plant sales (especially for Mother's Day), food & drink fests, and dancing & music events. While there is almost always something interesting happening somewhere in Puerto Rico, there are a few special events each month that deserve a mention. Here are some highlights for May 2026.

April is our shoulder month between Spring and Summer. During this time, the rough winter seas begin to calm down, and the hotter weather starts — so beaches and water sports pick up as the month goes on. Here are some highlights for for things happening in April 2026.

If you're looking for a laid-back outdoor activity in Puerto Rico that's fun, affordable, and family-friendly, the fanciful designed pedal boats at Discovery Bay Paddle Boat Park are a great option. The activity takes place just across the street from the Casa de Arbol/Tree House at Parque Colón, located waterfront, on the Aguadilla/Aguada border. Here, a river slowly flows into the ocean, creating a calm, lake-like area that's perfect for pedal-boating. The water is peaceful, making it an ideal spot to enjoy nature with someone for a short while.

Driving on Highway PR-52 near Cayey, you can't miss the large statue of the Three Kings (Three Wise Men) perched up on a hill. This is La Loma de los Reyes in Guavate, and the artist has added something unexpected - two giant hands jutting out from the hillside. We decided to check out the hands and statue at La Loma de los Reyes, and of course, it made for the perfect excuse to stop for lechon for lunch in Guavate.

We have almost perfect weather in March, and the fun never stops. From golf tournaments, marathons, plant shows, and food festivals, there is always something special to do. Here are some of the more noteworthy events for March 2026.

El Gran Parque del Norte in Hatillo is one of my favorite parks in Puerto Rico. It literally has something for everyone! It's like two parks rolled into one - the "fun park" side with rides and activities for kids, and the more natural side with a beach, boardwalk, outdoor sports, and tons of photo ops. Located right off Route 2, it sits on the border between Hatillo and Camuy - just an hour west of the San Juan area. I think it's absolutely worth a stop if you're anywhere nearby. We always enjoy our visits and come away with gorgeous photos. Plus, the park is really well-maintained.

High in the cool mountains of Aibonito, you'll find the Reloj de Flores de Aibonito, one of the few large-scale floral clocks in the world. It is both a functioning clock and a living garden. Unlike a traditional clock, the Reloj de Flores is alive — its face is formed by carefully arranged plants and flowers that change with the seasons.

If you venture deep into Camuy, you'll reach the crossroads of PR-451 and PR-486, where the towns of San Sebastián, Lares, and Camuy converge. Standing quietly at this junction is a weathered sentinel of Puerto Rican history: Colmado Soller. Founded in 1882, it is considered the oldest colmado (corner store) in Puerto Rico. After being closed for years, it reopened in 2025 - as not just as a place to grab a drink and hang out, but as a living museum steeped in nostalgia, inviting visitors to reminisce about the past.

Marathons, Carnivals and festivals celebrating everything from coffee to surfing , and some of the best weather of the entire year! There are lots of activities going on in Puerto Rico in February 2026. Here are some of the more noteworthy events.

Baseball, Fairs, Kings, and the biggest street party this side of New Orleans. There are lots of activities going on in Puerto Rico in January 2026. Here are some of the more noteworthy events.

December in Puerto Rico is a lively time, with a generally festive atmosphere. Holiday lights are everywhere, and everyone is getting in gear for Christmas and New Years. While there is always something fun happening somewhere in Puerto Rico, there are a few special events each month that deserve a mention. Here are some highlights for December 2025.

Every year, the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League in Puerto Rico starts in November! The action is non-stop, and it is a great family-friendly atmosphere! Come on out and support your favorite local team.

It's fascinating to consider all the buried history still waiting to be discovered around Puerto Rico. In 1983, while digging to build ponds, the landowner noticed a row of rocks — some with carvings. This discovery led to multiple archaeological excavations, revealing remnants of an indigenous ceremonial ball court and a village. The site, now known as Batey Delfín del Yagüez, was reborn!

The month of June … It’s officially “summer” here on the island, beaches are in full swing, and tourist spots are getting more crowded. While there is almost always something interesting happening somewhere in Puerto Rico, there are a few special events each month that deserve a mention. Here are some highlights for June 2025.
